Simon Dee- previously of 'DEE TIME' in the 60's, is recording a one off show on Thursday 18th December, at the BBC Television Centr.
There is a possibility that Helen will be appearing, singing with The big Band led by Barry Fogieand being interviewed . THIS IS NOT 100% CERTAIN AT THE MOMENT (subject to contract) but if this happens, Friends Club members may be allocated a limited quantity of tickets...

Helen will be presenting six programmes in tribute to Dinah Washington. They will be broadcast every Friday, from 31st October to Friday 5th December at 7pm.

Angie Davidson, Campaign Director, St Thomas' Lupus Trust, emailed me to let me know that Helen has agreed to make an appearance at their Awareness month at Central Hall, St Thomas' Hospital on 7th October.::
'Basically it's Lupus Awareness Month in October and the Lupus Trust is having an awareness stand in Central Hall, St Thomas' Hospital, London SE1. The nearest tubes are Westminster or Waterloo. The stand will be manned from 11am-3pm every day on following days in October: 1st/7th/14th/21st/28th. We have different things happening or people visiting to draw attention to the stand. On 7th October Helen is appearing to meet and chat to people in her capacity as a patron of our charity. The time has to be confirmed but other guests are coming along about 12-2ish.'

Jonathan Shaked emailed me to say that Helen was mentioned on Israel TV's "Garlic, Pepper and Olive oil" with chef Haim Cohen. His guest was Yehudit Ravitz (a famous Israeli singer) and he asked her what music she listened to at home as a child. She said Edith Piaf, and Helen Shapiro.

Helen has been interviewed by Karina Brennan for a forthcoming BBC documentary provisionally entitled "The Kids Are Alright", also featuring Jimmy Osmond, Lena Zavaroni, New Edition, Aled Jones, Billie Piper, and Charlotte Church. The documentary should go out over the August Bank Holiday weekend, so keep checking the programme schedules!

Brian Matthew mentioned that he, his wife, Helen and John attended The Judith Durham Concert at The Royal Festival Hall on July 3rd.
He also played She needs company (requested by a listener as part of the 'three in a row' feature), and said that it was written by Paul Jones with Helen in mind, and that the the 'B' side Stop and you will become aware became popular on the Northern Soul Circuit
This single is listed in the Record Collector Rare Record Price guide, as being worth £80 in mint condition.
