THE STORY OF CHRISTMAS - SATURDAY 13TH DECEMBER AT 7PM

Helen will be giving a reading at this event, at The Church of Christ the Healer, Burrswood, Groombridge, Tunbridge Wells.
Tickets £12.50 in advance, £15.00 on the night. Doors open from 6.15pm. All proceeds to the Burrswood Hospital Appeal.

Mulled wine, warming fruit punch and mince pies will be served during the interval.

JOHN SCHROEDER AUTOBIOGRAPHY

John tells me that his autobiography is due to be published sometime in the New Year, probably in February or March.

It will be entitled 'Sex and Violins' and sub-titled My Affair with Life, Love and Music.

It traces both the success and failure, the happiness and tragedy of his career which has spanned almost fifty years, and produced no less than 168 Artists, including Helen. John's email address:

There is a picture of Helen in the 28th June issue of the Radio Times, advertising 'The Lost Beatles Interview' being broadcast on BBC Radio 4 at 13.30 on Tuesday 1st July and repeated at 15.30p.m. on Saturday 5th July.

'The Lost Beatles Interview' will be broadcast on BBC Radio 4 at 13.30 on Tuesday 1st July and repeated at 15.30p.m. on Saturday 5th July.

RADIO 4 1st JULY

Helen will be narrating a Radio 4 programme on 1st July. It's called 'The Lost Beatles Interview' and is about an old can of film that was opened a few years ago to reveal a long-lost interview with The Beatles.

Helen has also recently done an interview for The Church Times. Keep checking back for the publishing date...

5TH MAY

'SHOUT'- THE MUSICAL.

The musical features songs of female singers from the 1960s, and Peter Ryan tells me that the musical has a snippet of Helen singing 'Let's Talk About Love', and also in the finale, a member of the cast sings 'Walkin' Back To Happiness'.

30TH APRIL

LEGENDS ON TOUR-THE POP PACKAGE TOURS OF THE 1960s.

Martin Creasy tells me, that in his book, 'Legends On Tour - The Pop Package Tours Of The 1960s', he interviewed Helen about her 1963 tour with The Beatles. He has devoted a special section to Helen and her memories from those days, which also features a photograph of Helen and John Lennon apparently waltzing together during a break in filming her song 'Look Who It Is' on Ready Steady Go. Also, an extract from the book appeared in the Carlisle News and Star The night The Beatles were thrown out of a Carlisle hotel dated 28th April.

Helen talked about appearing at the London Palladium at the tender age of 15, in 1961.

Also how she was not aware that her manager had turned down 'Misery', written for her by the Beatles...

The programme is repeated on Sunday morning, at 00:10 and 02:40.

1ST JANUARY

POP BRITANNIA on BBC 4, FRIDAY 4TH.

Helen was interviewed for Pop! What Is It Good for?, part of the Pop Britannia season.The episode charts British pop from post-war to the early 1960s, and will be transmitted on BBC4 on Friday betwen 22:00 and 23:00.
